In search of pinkberry.

Whilst running through the rain in the Latin Quarter, bitterly disappointed that the best falafel place in Paris was closed I took shelter at pinkberry. And what a delightful find it was! Frozen yoghurt with choice of 5 toppings.
Needless to say, ever since I arrived home, I have searched in vain for an equivalent. That is, until now. I think I have finally found a match.
Welcome pinkguava.

Now it's opposite my favourite Coles supermarket and due to my favourite checkout chick working post 8pm on Saturday nights, I've only seen pinkguava with the lights out.

I chose a berry smoothie on my first pinkguava daytime experience and I was not disappointed. Firstly, they freshly squeeze Granny Smith apples for the apple juice base, not like the mass marketed juice bar that I have renamed POOST after a BAD experience.
Secondly, the frozen yoghurt is refridgerated or shall I say refreezerated properly.
Thirdly, they do not scrimp on the berries. I don't understand why juice bars, namely POOST scrimp on the berries. C'mon they're frozen people! It's not like they're paying 8 bucks for a little tiny punnet of fresh raspberries.
Anyways the finished product was berry heaven. Smooth, cold and wonderfully tart. I shall be going back for more.

It is $3.90 for a small cup of frozen yoghurt and 1 free topping. The toppings range from mixed berries, fresh mango, choc chip cookie, museli, strawberries, blueberries and more. For the frozen yoghurt you can choose plain, guava or the half half. I chose half half with the fresh mango topping. LURVED it!! So I took home a take home pack of half half frozen yoghurt for $6.90 and it lasted the 10 min walk home in 25+ degrees summer's day.

Spurred by my great experience of pinkguava, I tried noggi. Similar in concept, little different in experience and flavours. You can choose 3 flavours of frozen yoghurt, plain, green tea or pomegranate. However you can't choose half half. First let down. Second let down? The art of pulling the forzen yoghurt into the cup. Gaps everywhere. Definitely felt that I didn't get value for money. Third let down (as you can see I had high expectations!), the yoghurt (I chose pomegranate btw) felt a bit grainy. Didn't have the smoothness of pinkberry. PLUS it didn't taste like pomegrante. However you could choose 3 toppings which were all fresh.

hmmmm pinkguava all the way.
